Dr. H. Al-Mufti
Dr. Al-Mufti completed his bachelor’s degree in Dental Surgery in 2005 from the University of Baghdad/Iraq. He then trained in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at the University of Malaya in Malaysia for two years. Upon completion, he was awarded the Chevening scholarship from the British Council to start his master’s degree in Public Health at the University of Glasgow/Scotland.
He graduated from the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Dentistry (IDDP) program. Upon graduation he received the Dr. William Bloom Prize-for the highest overall average in Oral Surgery, the Dr. Joseph Freeman Memorial Prize for the highest standing in Oral Surgery & the Canadian Academy of Periodontology Award for graduating student with the highest standing in Periodontics.
Continuing Dental education has always been a passion of Dr. Al-Mufti. Throughout his years in Canada, he has received multiple certifications in IV sedation, Dental Implant Placement, Root Canal Treatment and Medical Emergencies. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (BAOMS), American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), Canadian Dental Society (CDS), Ontario Dental Association (ODA) and the Ottawa Dental Society (ODS).
Dr. Al-Mufti has had many volunteer positions in the city. He is an Advanced Medical First Responder at the St. John Ambulance and volunteers to provide services with the Ottawa Public Health. He is an avid swimmer and water polo player, winning various international championships in the 50m breaststroke. He also enjoys traveling and watching soccer specifically the Premiere League (huge Chelsea F.C. supporter!).
