Dr. N. Bhargava
Dr. Bhargava grew up in Ottawa and graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto in 1987. In 1988 he started to practice dentistry at the corner of Bank St. and Hunt Club Rd.
He is a member of the Canadian Dental Association, Ontario Dental Association, Ottawa Dental Society and Bytown Dental Study Club.
He is a past President of the Ottawa Dental Society, past Chair of the Ontario Dental Association, Membership Committee and past President of the Bytown Dental Study Club. In 2005 he was awarded the Ontario Dental Association Award of Merit and in 2008 was named a Fellow of the international College of Dentists.
He is team dentist for the Ottawa 67’s, Ottawa Fury and Ottawa Redblacks.
Dr. Bhargava firmly believes in giving back to the community. He has been a board member of the Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life campaign, Ottawa Heart Institute Telethon, United Way Ottawa, Bruyere Containing Care Foundation and the past President of the Ottawa Girls Hockey Association.
He has chaired the Montfort Hospital’s Cardiac CT Fury for the Heart Gala and the Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival’s Tiki Beach Gala. He co-chaired the Ottawa Senators Foundation campaign to build a community rink in Jules Morin Park. He created the Maharaja’ Ball which has raised close to a million dollars for local Ottawa charities.
Presently, he is on the Community Cabinet for the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group (OSEG) Foundation.
He received the Indo-Canadian Community Centre and Network of Indian Professionals Hall of Fame award as well as the Community Service Award from the Indo-Canada Ottawa Business Chamber and the India Canada Association of Ottawa.
He was presented a Community Builder Award from United Way Ottawa and in 2010 was named Citizen of the Year by the City of Ottawa.
In 2017, he was named one of Ottawa’s 150 Great People during the Canada 150 celebrations
